There once was a terrible drought that caused all the grass in the animal kingdom to dry up. At the time, Giraffe had a short neck, and looked much like an antelope. Giraffe saw that the leaves on the treetops were still fresh and tried to stretch his neck towards them. Rhino saw Giraffe’s failed attempts and laughed until his tummy hurt. Giraffe stormed off into the bush, where he came across an old man.
The old man asked why Giraffe was angry, and Giraffe told him the story of his failed attempts at reaching the treetops. The old man gave Giraffe a special herb that made his neck longer, and he returned to his feeding spot to enjoy the luscious leaves. When Rhino heard this, he was filled with rage, and to this day he still has a bad temper.
