Support Slipper Day and help fulfill a child’s dream
Johannesburg, April 2019 – Slipper Day is upon us again and it’s scheduled to take place on 10 May 2019. It’s a time that calls for South Africans to come together to help the dreams of many children across the country to come into fruition. Once more, Wimpy is proud and excited to support Reach For A Dream (RFAD) as well as amplify the incredible work done by the Foundation.
RFAD is one of South Africa's most treasured charities that has made dreams for children suffering from serious, often terminal, illnesses come true; and in just over three decades it has touched over 3 million lives. The Foundation gives children the gift of fun and adventure – joyful parts of life they are often denied due to their illness.
With the support of South Africans, last year Wimpy raised R1.43 million from the sales of Slipper Day bracelets in store and gave away 42 151 free cups of Famous Wimpy Coffees on Slipper Day to all who wore their slippers and presented their wristbands. Wimpy outlets are geared up and ready for this year's event and have stocked up on Slipper Day wristbands.
