There’s a lot that’s lekker about calling Mzansi home, but our lingo is probably the best thing about being South African. Speaking more than one language might be a big deal elsewhere in the world, but over here, it’s just the South African way. You could let out a howzit in one breath and a heita in the next. And don’t even get us started on the South Africanisms that make tourists scratch their heads in confusion. There aren’t many places where the word sorry means excuse me, or where hundreds has less to do with maths and more to do with total agreement.

Before our new Wimpy menu made its way to our restaurants, we invited a few of Mzansi’s most-loved influencers to take a bite of our latest offerings. They included mommy blogger, Mari-Louise Candiotes and YouTuber, Sipho ‘Sipho Says’ Muchindu. What started out as a tasting session quickly turned into a conversation about local lingo and food. Looking for that mnandi flavour worth getting out of bed for? We’ve got two words for you: Lekker Breakfast. And it’s definitely lekker… or lekke? Well, you say it your way, we’ll say it ours.
Anyway, with this brekkie you can look forward to 2 eggs, 3 rashers of streaky bacon, 100g beef boerewors, and a corn, cheese, and caramelised onion paptert topped with grilled onions. The Lekker Breakfast is also served with our Famous Wimpy Relish and a slice of toast.
Ever had the pleasure of being handed a plate packed with grilled beef and chicken from a certified braai master? That's cool, but nowhere near as satisfying as a Wimpy waiter bringing a lekker Chicken & Boerie Feast to your table! Enjoy 100g of crumbed chicken strips or 2 chicken wings, 2 boerie skewers, crispy fried onion rings & your choice of BBQ mayo or sweet chilli mayo dipping sauce.

South African mornings are something else. There always seems to be a taxi that stopped with no warning, traffic that moves slower than the Monday after a long weekend, and a vendor at the robot who just doesn’t seem to believe that you already have enough aux cables.
